Right from the beginning, Cason J. Callaway and his wife, Virginia, felt a connection with this land. In 1930, two years after picnicking with friends beside a sparkling blue pond in Harris County, Georgia, they acquired 2,500 acres on which they would soon make their home. Over the next two decades, they expanded their holdings, their love of the surroundings grew, and they began to think their treasure needed to be shared beyond immediate friends and family.

In the late 1940s, the development of Callaway Gardens began in earnest, and on May 21, 1952, the Gardens opened to the public. I am the mother to three children and grandmother to three. I have been married 29 years to a wonderful man who encourages me every day to push myself more with my photography. I love taking photos of nature and wildlife. God has given us so much to catch the beauty in what he has given us. I have just started to do paint pouring and taking macro shots also of the designs that I get.
